Christmas Celebrations

Christmas is joy, religious joy, an inner joy of light and peace
Modernites believe in the religion of humanity, joy of sharing and the virtue of kindness, all of them are the ingredients of the spirit of Christmas. To keep that spirit alive Christmas was celebrated by the school on December 23, 2016 in the elegant style of Modernites. The event was initiated with a melodious Christmas Carol and then electrified with a stupendous dance performance embellished with multihued costumes and synchronised grooves. The appearance of Santa and cartoon characters thrilled the spectators. Even the little ones astonished everyone with their fabulous presentation of Christ family, merchandise and cuisine. The show was culminated by the eloquent speech of Madam Principal Ms Alka Kapur, who in her address encouraged the students to share their privileges with the under-privileged. The students were motivated to contribute their part for the welfare of mankind by following the path of charity. It was a wonderful morning for all as the spectators not only enjoyed the festive celebration but were also enriched with the significance of Christmas.

Fashion Fiesta

The students of class II participated in ‘Fashion Fiesta’ a fashion show organized for them on Dec 16, 2016 wherein they walked the ramp in style wearing mesmerizing winter attire. They flaunted their long coat, jacket, poncho, boots, colourful gown, skirt and other winter apparel. They looked ravishing as they walked with confidence. The cat walk of the little ones was praised by all.

Sports Day

The games are just a nice, positive way to build friendships, camaraderie and self esteem.

Games are an essential part of the holistic development in a child's life. Sports make students mentally alert and physically strong. Sports week was organised for the Nursery Department, commencing from 05.12.16 to 09.12.16.The school play ground witnessed a great excitement of the students . Races with message Save water, Go-green and Cleanliness were conducted. Fun Races like Balancing the Ball, Clock Race, Hoopla enthralled everyone. Flat races for boys and girls were also held. They enjoyed every moment of these fun filled activities. These games built in the competitive and team spirit among the students who learnt  Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.

English Recitation Competition

Better environment,better tomorrow.

A notion, well fathomed by the young scholars of MPS. Ergo, an invigorating English Recitation Competition was organized for Pre Primary students on 15.12.16 (Thursday). The little munchkins of the school delivered fine, illuminating and euphonious poems on the theme-'Go Green'. The USP of the programme was the perfect voice modulation, intonation ,expressions and pronunciation by such little children. They were all dressed in vibrant attire which infused the whole setting with fervour.

The energetic dancers of Class III enthralled the audience with their well choreographed dance sequences on December 2, 2016(Friday) during a Solo Dance Competition organized for them. The vivacious dancers set the stage on fire with their spirited songs. The moves, the rhythm, the synchronization and the presentation of all the participants were par excellence. This fun filled extravaganza was highly praised by the judges and enjoyed by the audience.

Hindi Declamation Competition

THOUSANDS HAVE LIVED WITHOUT LOVE NOT ONE WITHOUT WATER.

The oratory skills of the students of class II, were honed through a Hindi Declamation Competition on the topic Jal Hi Jeevan Hai on 25.11.2016(Friday). The young orators emphasized on the pressing need to conserve water which is essential for all the dimensions of life. The water cycle and the life cycle are one, light was thrown upon this thought too. So, before the well dries up, we must understand the importance of every drop of water. The efforts of all the participants were applauded by the Director Academics who also encouraged the students to conserve water.

Visit to an old age home

The senior population, with its life experience, possesses an incredible amount of strength, wisdom and knowledge. The young learners of Pre Primary were taken to an Old Age Home: Vanprastha in Rohini on 17.11.16 (Thursday) to sensitize them for the same. They offered them respect and sought their blessings. Through their songs and dance performances, the students entertained those elderly people. The dwellers of the old age home also embraced students with their open heart and showered their blessings.

Children's Day

Children's Day was celebrated by the students of Nursery Department to mark the birth anniversary of our first Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru on 11.11.16 (Friday).  The main purpose of this day is to encourage the welfare of children , who are the bright future of our country. So , to make this day joyful for them , various activities were conducted for them. The students of Pre School and Pre Primary enjoyed colouring competition , whereas , the students of class I had a great time with Clay Modeling which proved to be fun filled learning . All the teachers also wished for their superior education for a blissful life ahead.

Gurudwara Visit

The students of class Pre School visited Gurudwara Nanak Piao  on 03.11.16 (Thursday). Sitting calmly in front of Guru Granth  Sahib, they learnt the importance of praying. The Gurupurab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is round the corner and hence it was great opportunity for them to know about the founder of Sikhism. They also relished the sacred Kada prasad. The fishes in the holy pond was another attraction for them. The visit was truly an enlightening for them.

Clay Moulding

A Clay Moulding activity was conducted for the students of Pre school  on 18 October 2016 (Tuesday). It was the perfect platform for the creative minds to meet their colourful desire and fantasy needs. Children worked wonders using clay and made various animals like elephant, octopus, snake, caterpillar and many other colourful animals and brought the theme 'Animals' alive.

Visit to Gandhi Smriti

On 15 October 2016 (Saturday), the students of class I visited Gandhi Smriti, formerly known as 'Birla Bhavan' a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. It is the place where he spent the last 144 days of his life. Students, contemplated and honoured various exhibits associated with Gandhiji's life and death in that multimedia museum. Through this visit students got a better insight into the life of the 'Mahatma' who believed in non-violence. They appreciated completely modern and sophisticated interactive exhibits and assimilated Gandhiji's message of simplicity, truth and non-violence, 'My life is my message.'

Old Age Home Visit

Students of class II were taken to 'Vanprastha' old age home Sec-16, Rohini on 01.10.16 (Saturday) to celebrate International World Elderly Day. They understood and appreciated senior citizens' role in the society. They entertained them with their jokes and dance performances. A cake and various gifts were presented to them. The visit certainly made them realize our duty and responsibility towards such people.

"Cooking without fire"

Cooking is not a rocket science, all you need is love. Learners of Class II took a giant leap and tried their hands on cooking on 28.09.2016 (Wednesday) in an especially carved activity “Cooking without Fire” for them. They played with many interesting ingredients like fresh veggies, fruits, chocolates, bread, sprouts, dry fruits, coconuts, corns etc. They prepared lip-smacking dishes which were an instant hit with the judges, who appreciated the efforts of all the little chefs whole heartedly.

To widen the horizon of the  students on the importance of helpers in our community, a visit to Superstore was organized for the students of Pre Primary on 27.09.16 (Tuesday). Students gained first hand information of how to purchase things themselves. They were introduced to various helpers like Cashier, Sales person, Guard and the Owner. The visit also made them independent as they learnt to take care of their own money and to collect the bill from the cashier.

It's not important what you wear, it's the spirit inside that matters. To impress upon the importance of style, an activity on clothes was organized for the students of class I on 26 September 2016 (Monday). Students came dressed up in different costumes and uniforms for the same. The activity helped them to coin their bag with more knowledge about clothes worn by different people in different seasons. The uniform of pilot, soldier, doctor etc. and the costumes of various states made them proud. It was a day of fun learning for them.

The day highlighted the ceaseless efforts of people who facilitate the functioning of society through their undying contribution. Children simulated various roles played by them and came decked in their respective helpers' role. They impressed one and all present there with their effortless depiction which was based on their day to day observation. The activity taught them to be grateful to all these community helpers and to acknowledge their efforts too.

Politeness is a skill that can be mastered with practice. The learners of class III experienced the same through a Declamation Competition on 20.09.16 (Tuesday). The little orators expressed their views on the topic 'Politeness: a door to everyone's heart' with great confidence. Words like, sorry, thank you, please, excuse me etc. work wonders. The activity imparted a lesson for life. Students learnt that politeness is a great virtue which creates a feel good environment and is a tool to become winner in all spheres of life.

To spread the fragrance of poetry among the children, an English Recitation Competition was held on 19.09.16 (Monday)  for the students of class I. The participants came dressed up in beautiful costumes and with eye catching props depicting the theme of their poem which was 'Health and Hygiene'. The poems reflected the importance of sanitation in day to day life . They presented their poems with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The various methods to improve one's health were covered in the poems presented. The judges appreciated and applauded the performances of the participants. The competition was enjoyed by one and all.

Hindi Diwas

Hindi Diwas is celebrated annually on 14th September all over India to give importance to Hindi language. It is celebrated to promote and spread the importance of our national language amongst the people. To propagate the Hindi language various activities like Shlok/Doha Vachan, Kahani Vachan and kahani Buno were organized for classes Pre School to class V on 14 September 2016 (Wednesday). Through this activity learners imbibed in them the importance of their mother tongue, Hindi. The learners participated with great enthusiasm and enjoyed a lot.

To enable our learners to attain the same, a Pick and Speakactivity was conducted on 12.09.16 (Monday) for the students of classes II to V, wherein, they picked up an object of their choice and spoke about it in general. The activity tested their presence of mind and communication skills and also assisted them in becoming confident orators.

'Clay on wheel'


Being creative is not a hobby,

It's a way of life.
To promote this idea a 'Clay on Wheel' Workshop was conducted by the Times of India for the students of class III on 6 September 2016,i.e. Tuesday. The resource person crafted various beautiful objects with ceramic clay such as a hut, frog, parrot etc. The activity gave a first hand experience of this ancient art to the students and enhanced their creative skills. It was a visual treat for the audience and was yet another way to drift the young learners close to nature.

Students of class I depicted the same through a Hindi Recitation Competition on the theme अनेकता में एकता (Unity in diversity) held on 30.08.16 (Tuesday). Students came dressed up in colourful and creative costumes.They recited their poems with great enthusiasm  impressing upon a strong message of being united that we all are one. It was a great learning experience for one and all present there.

Janamashtami Celebrations

The festival of Janamashtami was celebrated with great pomp and show by the students of Nursery Department on 24.08.16 (Wednesday). Little learners dressed up as Krishnas and Radhas looked adorable in their traditional outfits. Tiny tots of class Pre School and Pre Primary performed  excellently on the beats of 'Come here my dear' and 'Gokul ki galio me kanha'. The students of class I presented a skit on 'Kalia Naag Mardan' too.
The students also displayed their creativity by decorating crowns and flutes with mirrors, glitters and peacock feathers. The pious occasion of  Lord Krishna's birthday  was enjoyed by one and all present there.

English Recitation Competition

Peace is to be found only within and unless one finds it there, he will never find it in the external world. When the power of love overcomes the love of power...Terrorism fails and peace prevails !!!
The same was experienced by the students of class III through an English Recitation Competition with the theme ' Terrorism & Peace' held on 23.08.16 i.e Tuesday. The young learners recited various poems giving message to abolish terrorism and spread peace so that our world becomes a wonderful place to live in. The participants came dressed up in beautiful costumes along with the props highlighting the importance of peace in our life.
The competition certainly sowed a seed of tolerance in the young hearts with a promise to blossom throughout their life.

Visit to Iskcon temple

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow or sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. To seek the blessings of Almighty, the students of Pre-Primary visited Iskcon temple on 12-08-16 (Friday) and  Pre School  on 17-08-16 ( Wednesday ). The chanting of ' Hare Krishna' generated a feeling of faith in the young hearts. They learnt that faith makes things possible in life.

Raksha Bandhan Celebration

Raksha Bandhan is the perfect time to strengthen the bond between a brother and a sister. Various traditions are followed on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and the most important one is the tying of rakhi and exchange of gifts. Following the same this year on 17 August 2016 (Wednesday), Modernites celebrated this sacred festival with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Pre School students tied rakhis to their peer. Students from classes Pre Primary to class III made beautiful and creative rakhis using decorative material. The joy in the thrilling  hearts of tiny tots wrapped up the auspicious occasion with a commitment to rejuvenate this bond of love.

The Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect by the students of Nursery Department on 11 August 2016 (Thursday). On this patriotic occasion Modernites showcased a colourful spectacle of India's vision through their performance. To instil in children the values of freedom and patriotism, various activities like Badge Making, Tricolour Sandwich Making and Role Play were organised for the learners. They portrayed great freedom fighters with  zest which was applauded by all.

The activity made them understand the meaning of sharing and donating and helped them spread smiles and happiness around.

In order to sell a product or service to the customers, a business needs to create value that capture the exact need of a customer. The same was experienced by the students of class I during the 'Capture the Customer' activity which was organized for them on 28.07.16 (Thursday). They came dressed up in different seller's attire with relevant props. They sold soaps, pencils, toothpaste, milk, chips etc. The little enthusiastic sellers fascinated all and their efforts were applauded by everyone.

Visit to Traffic Training Park

An excursion is the best way to augment the modern learning experience. It is an extension of classroom teaching. The students of pre - school enjoyed a visit to 'Traffic Training Park' on 27.07.16 (Wednesday) to experience the same. This was one of the many activities conducted in the month under the theme 'Transport'. The activity gave them first hand experience of basic traffic rules. The little learners were also encouraged to pass on the same learning to their friends and family.

FRUIT CHAAT ACTIVITY

A nutritious diet is the key to good health. To inculcate healthy eating habits amongst the children, A Fruit Chaat activity was planned for the students of class I on 26.07.16 (Tuesday). Children prepared fruit chaat with a variety of fruits like banana, apple, kiwi and mango etc. All the children relished the healthy fruit chaat tossed with lemon juice and spices. This juicy and flavoured treat refreshed their taste buds. They not only enjoyed the taste but also learnt to appreciate different flavours, colors, shapes and sizes of fruits. Children enjoyed the activity with great joy and gusto.

Pencil Cap Making Activity

A teacher is a great teacher only when what she does leaves an impression in the minds of the students. To create an interest and encourage the reluctant writers, Pencil Cap Making Activity was designed for the students of Pre Primary on 25th July 2016.The Children enthusiastically decorated their personalized pencil topper. It acted as an incentive for the students who refrain from writing. This little personal gesture gave children a sense of belongingness and lit up their faces with a beautiful smile.

They learnt how to spread napkin,the correct usage of cutlery. They also learnt the correct posture from their teacher. Such etiquette learnt in the formative years will definitely become a strong pillar of their social life ahead.

We celebrate every moment of our life with vibrant colours of nature.They are the source of joy and happiness for every one.The tiny tots of Pre school celebrated 'Colours day' on 09.05.16(Monday) with great zeal.The activities conducted for them were full of fun.Their colourful attire caught every one's attention. Hand and foot printing,Fish hunting,Noodles painting,Balancing on colour path were a few activities enjoyed by the young learners.The day certainly added to their colourful childhood memories.

A mother's lap is a child's first academy. The students of Pre school and Pre Primary celebrated Mother's day on 06.05.16 (friday) to acknowledge motherhood. They expressed their love by dancing to Mother's day songs and reciting poems for mothers. Mother's day cards were given as a token of love to their mother. Mothers in return showed their affection by serving home made dishes to the children.The tiny tots enjoyed the delicious meals served to them.This wonderful celebration strengthened the bond of love between them.

The students of nursery department observed “Earth Day” on April 22, 2016 (Friday) wherein they realized the pressing need to protect the planet Earth through different activities. Children pasted biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials on the pictures of dustbins and mother Earth respectively. They also planted saplings and watered them. They prepared paper bags using old newspapers. These activities certainly created awareness amongst the students and helped them understand their responsibility as a global citizen.

They participated in various activities organized for them like Tricolor Flag making for Pre School, coloring the National flag for Pre Primary and circle talk on Republic Day by class I.
