Christmas

"The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of love and generosity. It illuminates the window the soul."

This spirit of happiness and togetherness was felt by the students of Pre School and Pre Primary as they celebrated Christmas on 24 December (Wednesday). They had a gala time celebrating Christmas and approaching holidays. Students made X-Mas tree using ice-cream sticks. They also decorated Christmas bells and had a fun time together.

'Show and Tell'

Technology : An inevitable part of human life.

In modern era one can never imagine his life without gadgets like mobile phones, computers, I-pads, pen drive, etc. In order to instill the importance of such gadgets, a 'Show and Tell' competition was organized for the students of class I on 09:12:14 (Tuesday). Students came dressed up in the attire of various gadgets and discussed the uses, advantages and disadvantages of the gadget chosen.

Helper's Day

"In a classroom, learning is always alive and aesthetic beauty is appreciated"

"What should I be, when I grow up ?" - an everlasting, tricking, in fact interesting question for children. To ignite the lamp of reasoning, Helper's Day was organized for the students of Pre- school on 17-12-14 (Wednesday). Students dressed up as different community helpers like Doctor, Pilot, Lawyer etc and spoke few lines on them. This was they learnt about many jobs and their uses. They also learnt how much we are interdependent and hence learnt that man is a social animal.

Fancy dress competition class III


"Season Changes But Style Endures"
The students of class III looked immensely fashionable during a fancy dress competition ‘Winter Attire’ held on 05.12.14 (Friday). They all came dressed up in the traditional dresses of various countries worn in winters. Their creativity marked with style, and the lines spoken by them on their attire added to their presentation. The activity was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Fun with origami

"Origami is a metamorphic art form, you got a piece of paper, you don't add to it, you don't take away from it,you only change it"
Same is the case with the hidden talents in the students. Talent is neither created, nor destroyed, it is only hidden, which needs to be discovered. To explore this talent of students, Fun with Origami activity was organized for the students, of Pre Primary on 28.11.14 (Friday). Students used origami sheets and colours  to design a scenery. This activity developed their fine motor skills and they had a great fun playing with origami sheets. 

Tree Plantation

"Trees are the best monuments that a man can erect to his own memory. They speak his praises without flattery and they are blessings to children yet unborn"
To instill a sense of environmental awareness among students a tree plantation activity was conducted on 28.11.14 (Friday) for the students of Pre School to class I. The students were told about the importance of trees and their role in shaping up man's life. Trees are man's best friends and the one who plants trees plants a new hope. Our tiny tots brought sapplings of rose, sunflower,jasmine and marigold which they planted with full enthusiasm and with a  pledge to "SAVE TREES, SAVE LIFE"

Night Camp

To inspire the children from happy schooling and to generate the idea of positive peer pressure, NIGHT CAMP had been organized from  22.11.14 to 23.11.14 (two days) for the classes Pre School to class IV.

Tattoo making and Ramp show-We did activities and had a puppet  show! Students relished the healthy and yummy meals served to them. They did aerobics also. Coming out  from the casual routine of classroom studying , they had a wonderful time spent with their class teachers. Class photographs were given to them as a token of love.

Inter School Competition

Modernities shown again, kept their banner tall and high in skit competition. Tinny toddlers of class II bang the stage with their gracious performance. Even though they were the winners but they inculcated the value of happiness in participating than in winning through the moral of their fable that is "happiness is not winning, it's in participating". They portrayed this moral in the twisted fable of 'The Rabbit and The Tortoise' in a mesmerizing way and stood up as winners for their high spirits and performance in an inter school competition 'Curclicue' on 18 November at Kulachi Hansraj Model School.

Children's Day

A coloring competition was organized for the students of classes Pre school to III on the occasion of Children's Day (14-11-14) Friday. Children were given sheets with beautiful pictures. They put wings to their imagination and colored the sheets beautifully. They happily decorated the sheets with stickers, cotton and studds also. They were very enthusiastic and full of zeal.

flower Day (Pre School)

The scented fragrance of flowers makes the atmosphere aromatic with in seconds. The same was seen in Pre School classes as students came dressed in adorable flower dresses on the occasion of flower Day organized on 13-11-14 (Thursday). The students looked amazingly beautiful in dresses adorned with different flowers like orchid, marigold, sunflower, roses etc. A flower activity was also organized where in students pasted flower petals in the given picture of flowers.

English Recitation Competition (Class P P)

"Competition is not a  test, it's a gate to open your hidden talents"

In order to take out the hidden talent and to give stage exposure, English Recitation was held for the students of class Pre Primary on 12.11.14 (Wednesday). The students recited rhymes on the theme seasons.This, not only enhanced their knowledge on seasons but made them more confident too. On the whole,the programme was very lively and was enjoyed by all present there.

English Recitation Competition(Class I)

“The Earth has music for those who listen”

Poetry is one of the best ways to express ideas and feelings. To showcase their poetic side students of Class I recited poems on the topic “Mother Earth” on 11.11.2014 (Tuesday) in an English Recitation Competition organized for them. Students dressed up as the planet Earth and recited their poems with a great zeal. Their poems highlighted issues like growing trees to reduce pollution and avoiding deforestation. Their efforts were praised by one and all. It was a great learning experience for the tiny tots

Picnic class I

To make the students of class I acquainted with the beauty and joy of nature, a visit to the District park was organised on 05.11.14 (Wednesday) . They felt wonderful by spending time with a lot of greenery around . They were told about the reasons behind not plucking the flowers or cutting trees? They played and sung songs there too. It was a pleasant morning which was spent as a memorable picnic.

Visit to Gurudwara

To celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji the great thinker and social reformer, the little ones of Pre school and Pre primary visited Gurudwara Nanak Piao on 30.10.14 (Thursday) and 31.10.14 (Friday) respectively. Covering their heads and folding their hands,they sought the blessings of the Almighty.They enjoyed the 'kadhaa prasad' also. It was a spiritual and memorable trip for them.

Animal Day

Our earth is a fascinating place and is an abode of many different species of animals. To enhance the general knowledge of our little ones and to fasten the moral progress of our nation, Animal Day was celebrated on 28.10.14 (Tuesday) by the students of Pre School. Students displayed love and affection towards animals by making eye masks of a rabbit and face mask of a lion. they learnt the names of animal babies, animal sounds and their habitats also. The day was spent wonderfully, learning about the beautiful creation of God- animals.

Diwali Celebration

Diwali is not simply about lighting Diyas and relishing good food, it is also about enlightenment of soul and over coming the darkness of ignorance and stepping into a cleaner and brighter world. To celebrate the forthcoming festivals the students of Pre school decorated diyas and candles beautifully. Pre Primary students decorated muffins and relished them with their pals and the students of class I displayed their creativity by decorating Toran. The activity certainly lit up the atmosphere with happiness and love.

Candle Making Activity

Candle making activity was conducted for the students of class- III on 16:10:14 (Thursday) to celebrate the forthcoming festival of Diwali. The students adorned the candles beautifully using Gota, colored tapes, studs and ribbons. The activity encouraged the students to celebrate a peaceful Diwali. the activity was thoroughly enjoyed by the tiny tots.

Global Hand Wash Day

Global Hand Wash Day was observed by classes Pre School to class III to make children aware of health and regular hygiene. They were told the right way and need to wash their hands . They also took a pledge stating that they will wash their hands before and after every meal and after the use of wash room. They were encouraged to discuss the same with their family members, neighbors and play mates also.

Paper - Toran Making Activity

With the onset of the festive season, the Modernites received the opportunity to recall our tradition and culture of decorating our houses. To keep this tradition  alive the students of class  II participated in a Paper- Toran Making Activity on 14:10:14 (Tuesday). They made beautiful Torans using Pastel sheets cut in different shapes  and adorned them with mirrors and studs. Students also portrayed their creativity using waste material.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations (P s -III )

Gandhi Jayanti, birthday of the great leader who gave the world the invincible weapons of Truth, Non-violence and comparison. Thus the Mahatma's birthday was celebrated in Nursery wing on 1st October 2014 with a range of activities. The essence of Gandhi Jayanti celebration transcends far beyond commemorating Mahatma Gandhi's birth and his life. The Pre School section colored the "Three Monkeys of Gandhiji" and learnt the importance of "Speak no evil, hear no evil, see no evil." Pre  Primary section students made charkha in a very innovative manner using bangles and thread. class 1st students pasted the picture of the great leader in their note book and wrote lines on him. All these activities proved to be great way of making our tiny tots aware of  Gandhiji's principles and his contribution to India's freedom struggle. The young Modernites of class II and III enthusiastically participated in Swatch Bharat Abhiyan on 02.10.14 by cleaning the school premises. They also pledged to keep their motherland neat and clean always.

Dussehera Celebration

"The fragrance of flower is never borne against the breeze but the fragrance of human virtues diffuses itself everywhere"


In a multicultural society, we need to instill and enforce the  values of brotherhood, tolerance, peace and comparison. A celebration is an effort to sensitize students towards living in harmony in  adverse society. Dussehera was celebrated by the students of Nursery Department on 01.10.14. (i.e Wednesday) with zest, zeal and enthusiasm. Pre School to class III depicted scenes from the Ramayana like Ravana Vadh, Sita abduction, Ram Setu bridge etc. Their costumes and props added vibrancy and fervor to the whole atmosphere. Besides this depiction of special activities like Mask Making. Gadda Decoration and Crown Making conducted for the students of Pre School to class I pulled up the spirits of the students. Dussehera mark the victory of Good over evil inspires us to kill our inner devil!

Nature walk (Pre primary)

“In all the things of the nature there is something of the marvelous” 
To see the marvels of the nature and to observe its beauty,  a recreational and educational trip was organized for the students of Pre Primary on 30.09.14(Tuesday) to a district park. Students spent a few wonderful moments in the nature’s lap. “Green is the new mantra of life” was the lesson taken by them. Admiring the fresh environment and the fragrant flowers they went back with a good learning experience.
