“Good spellings cement the connection between the letters and their sound.” And, to help children understand the need of spelling correctly, a Spelling bee Competition was conducted for Class II &III students on 20 January 2012. The activity proved to be a fun way to get the children brush up on their spelling skills and get everyone involved in the learning fun. It was a handy tool for the teachers to judge the spelling skills of the students and a chance for the students to improve their spellings. Overall, it was a great way to drill upon spellings.

MS-Paint Activity(Class III)
MS-Paint Activity was organized for the students of class III on 31 January 2012 (Tuesday). Five Students from each sections participated in the activity. They made different shapes and filled colours in it on the topics given to them. They presented their drawing skills in a creative way and learnt tools of Ms–Paint.

To inculcate the feelings of patriotism Flag Making Activity was held in Class I on 25 January 2012(Wednesday). The young ones made the flag with tri colours (saffron, white, green) using origami papers. The children showed their earnest efforts.
Republic Day –Sash Making Activity(Pre School)
Children of Pre School made tri colour Sash on 25 January2012(Wednesday) on the eve of Republic Day. It helped to develop their fine motor skills and enhanced their knowledge on the colours of the flag. The students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.

To salute the nation, children of Pre Primary made flags using ear bud on 25 January 2012(Wednesday). They were acquainted with the significance of colours in the flag and relevance of Republic Day.

Dramatisation of Tiger's Birthday (Class I)
On 21 January 2012(Saturday) dramatisation of Tiger's birthday was done under the British Council Project. The room was decorated in the form of forest with cutouts of animals and hand made leaves, trees, buntings etc. A big decorated cake was also made. Children came in colourful attires of different animals and beautiful face makeup. The young ones dressed up as South African and European animals. Three parents and teachers were invited to give their views and observation. The programme was appreciated by all. Children also gave their observation regarding the programme.
Creative Mask Making Activity(Pre Primary)

On 21 January 2012(Saturday)children from Pre Primary made beautiful animal masks. Animals chosen were from South Africa and Europe. Materials varied from wood-crush, tea leaves, kitchen spices to glitter, feathers with proper precision and dedication children did a fabulous work. Parents of some children were called for their expert comments. Principal mam appreciated the work of tiny tots. Children wore sashes of their respective countries. The efforts of parents, teachers and children were commendable. These activities are an eye opener that with a little guidance and encouragement our little bundle of joy can excel everywhere.

They made beautiful flash cards by pasting colourful pictures. They, even, described the features of the animals. The activity helped to sharpen their general awareness. The students participated in high spirits. Their efforts were lauded by the teachers.
