Visit to Rail Museum

"Nothing beats an exciting hands-on experience to deepen learning. The magic of a field trip isn't just the subjects. It's break in routine & adventure that opens up children's minds to new things".
Students of Pre Primary visited the National Rail Museum on 25.02.17 (Saturday). They were amazed to see the huge engines and compartments of the train, wagons etc. and learnt about the contribution of railways to the industrial and economic progress of the country. The Toy Train was the main attraction of the visit. They enjoyed the most when the train passed through the tunnel. In all it was a fun filled educational trip for the young learners, as they also came to know about the first steam engine displayed there which ran from Thane to Mumbai, in 1853.

Solo Dance Competition


'Dance is the hidden language of the soul'.

A Solo Dance Competition was organized for the students of class I on 22.02.17 (Wednesday), wherein the participants enthralled the audience with their well choreographed dance sequences and provided thorough entertainment with their graceful and energetic moves. Their vibrant costumes provided a visual treat to one and all present. All the participants performed exceptionally well and were applauded by the judges.

AD-MAD competition


"Creativity without strategy is called art, creativity with strategy is called advertising".

AD-MAD competition initiates a thinking process among children to enable them to differentiate between numerous products available in the market. The competition was held on 21.02.17 (Tuesday) for the students of class Pre Primary to provide them a space to demonstrate their understanding of the world of advertisements. The students showcased their dramatic and oratory skills as they enacted a particular advertisement in a creative way. Their attire and the props used by them was a feast to the eyes of one and all present there. Truly media and advertisements have an everlasting impact on children today.

Visit to Rail Museum

"Learning should be a joyous and full of excitement. It's life's greatest adventure, it is an illustrated excursion into the minds of the noble and the learned".
The learners of Pre School visited the Rail Museum on 18.02.17 (Saturday). They were excited to see exhibits of wagons, coaches and engines displayed in the exhibition hall. The tiny tots were overwhelmed with joy while riding on the 'Toy Train'. This excursion gave them a first hand experience of basic old models of trains and encouraged them to share their learning with their friends and family.

English Recitation Competition

Poem Recitation is a mode of expression, a medium to reflect the talent of the young ones.

Rhymes can prove to be instrumental stepping stones for young children to learn English. These help them especially in the early stages of learning the language. Children can recite them at any time and at any place to elate their mood. Keeping this in mind English Recitation Competition was organized for the students of Pre School on 18.01.17 (Wednesday). All the participants came prepared with different rhymes of their choice. It was a delight to listen to those little ones. The eye catching props were the icing on the cake.

Lohri Celebration

"Dhol beats are in the air
So lets dance along Lohri is here."
Lohri was celebrated with a lot of exuberance and fanfare by Nursery Department on 13.01.17 (Friday). The mood in the school ground was full of religious fervour and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. Importance of Lohri festival which ushers in the cheerful, spring season bidding adieu to the dull winters, was shared with the little learners. Bonfire was lit, the students and teachers danced on the songs immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab. Groundnuts, Rewari and Pop corns were distributed which children relished.

You can't frame life but you can always frame a good moment. Students of Pre Primary bid farewell to the year 2016 by captivating their golden moments in their creatively made photo frames. These decorative photo frames showcased their life's beautiful moment, thus symbolising broad smile, and a happy beginning to the New Year.

Christmas Celebrations

Christmas is joy, religious joy, an inner joy of light and peace
Modernites believe in the religion of humanity, joy of sharing and the virtue of kindness, all of them are the ingredients of the spirit of Christmas. To keep that spirit alive Christmas was celebrated by the school on December 23, 2016 in the elegant style of Modernites. The event was initiated with a melodious Christmas Carol and then electrified with a stupendous dance performance embellished with multihued costumes and synchronised grooves. The appearance of Santa and cartoon characters thrilled the spectators. Even the little ones astonished everyone with their fabulous presentation of Christ family, merchandise and cuisine. The show was culminated by the eloquent speech of Madam Principal Ms Alka Kapur, who in her address encouraged the students to share their privileges with the under-privileged. The students were motivated to contribute their part for the welfare of mankind by following the path of charity. It was a wonderful morning for all as the spectators not only enjoyed the festive celebration but were also enriched with the significance of Christmas.

Fashion Fiesta

Fashion is an art and models are the canvas
The students of class II participated in ‘Fashion Fiesta’ a fashion show organized for them on Dec 16, 2016 wherein they walked the ramp in style wearing mesmerizing winter attire. They flaunted their long coat, jacket, poncho, boots, colourful gown, skirt and other winter apparel. They looked ravishing as they walked with confidence. The cat walk of the little ones was praised by all.

Sports Day

The games are just a nice, positive way to build friendships, camaraderie and self esteem.

Games are an essential part of the holistic development in a child's life. Sports make students mentally alert and physically strong. Sports week was organised for the Nursery Department, commencing from 05.12.16 to 09.12.16.The school play ground witnessed a great excitement of the students . Races with message Save water, Go-green and Cleanliness were conducted. Fun Races like Balancing the Ball, Clock Race, Hoopla enthralled everyone. Flat races for boys and girls were also held. They enjoyed every moment of these fun filled activities. These games built in the competitive and team spirit among the students who learnt  Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.

English Recitation Competition

Better environment,better tomorrow.

A notion, well fathomed by the young scholars of MPS. Ergo, an invigorating English Recitation Competition was organized for Pre Primary students on 15.12.16 (Thursday). The little munchkins of the school delivered fine, illuminating and euphonious poems on the theme-'Go Green'. The USP of the programme was the perfect voice modulation, intonation ,expressions and pronunciation by such little children. They were all dressed in vibrant attire which infused the whole setting with fervour.

The energetic dancers of Class III enthralled the audience with their well choreographed dance sequences on December 2, 2016(Friday) during a Solo Dance Competition organized for them. The vivacious dancers set the stage on fire with their spirited songs. The moves, the rhythm, the synchronization and the presentation of all the participants were par excellence. This fun filled extravaganza was highly praised by the judges and enjoyed by the audience.

Hindi Declamation Competition

THOUSANDS HAVE LIVED WITHOUT LOVE NOT ONE WITHOUT WATER.

The oratory skills of the students of class II, were honed through a Hindi Declamation Competition on the topic Jal Hi Jeevan Hai on 25.11.2016(Friday). The young orators emphasized on the pressing need to conserve water which is essential for all the dimensions of life. The water cycle and the life cycle are one, light was thrown upon this thought too. So, before the well dries up, we must understand the importance of every drop of water. The efforts of all the participants were applauded by the Director Academics who also encouraged the students to conserve water.

Visit to an old age home

The senior population, with its life experience, possesses an incredible amount of strength, wisdom and knowledge. The young learners of Pre Primary were taken to an Old Age Home: Vanprastha in Rohini on 17.11.16 (Thursday) to sensitize them for the same. They offered them respect and sought their blessings. Through their songs and dance performances, the students entertained those elderly people. The dwellers of the old age home also embraced students with their open heart and showered their blessings.

Children's Day

Children's Day was celebrated by the students of Nursery Department to mark the birth anniversary of our first Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru on 11.11.16 (Friday).  The main purpose of this day is to encourage the welfare of children , who are the bright future of our country. So , to make this day joyful for them , various activities were conducted for them. The students of Pre School and Pre Primary enjoyed colouring competition , whereas , the students of class I had a great time with Clay Modeling which proved to be fun filled learning . All the teachers also wished for their superior education for a blissful life ahead.

Gurudwara Visit

The students of class Pre School visited Gurudwara Nanak Piao  on 03.11.16 (Thursday). Sitting calmly in front of Guru Granth  Sahib, they learnt the importance of praying. The Gurupurab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is round the corner and hence it was great opportunity for them to know about the founder of Sikhism. They also relished the sacred Kada prasad. The fishes in the holy pond was another attraction for them. The visit was truly an enlightening for them.

Clay Moulding

'Creativity is  as natural  and necessary for children as fresh air and sunshine'.   
A Clay Moulding activity was conducted for the students of Pre school  on 18 October 2016 (Tuesday). It was the perfect platform for the creative minds to meet their colourful desire and fantasy needs. Children worked wonders using clay and made various animals like elephant, octopus, snake, caterpillar and many other colourful animals and brought the theme 'Animals' alive.

Visit to Gandhi Smriti

'Be the change that you wish

to see in the world.' - Mahatma Gandhi







On 15 October 2016 (Saturday), the students of class I visited Gandhi Smriti, formerly known as 'Birla Bhavan' a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. It is the place where he spent the last 144 days of his life. Students, contemplated and honoured various exhibits associated with Gandhiji's life and death in that multimedia museum. Through this visit students got a better insight into the life of the 'Mahatma' who believed in non-violence. They appreciated completely modern and sophisticated interactive exhibits and assimilated Gandhiji's message of simplicity, truth and non-violence, 'My life is my message.'

Old Age Home Visit

Students of class II were taken to 'Vanprastha' old age home Sec-16, Rohini on 01.10.16 (Saturday) to celebrate International World Elderly Day. They understood and appreciated senior citizens' role in the society. They entertained them with their jokes and dance performances. A cake and various gifts were presented to them. The visit certainly made them realize our duty and responsibility towards such people.

"Cooking without fire"

Cooking is not a rocket science, all you need is love. Learners of Class II took a giant leap and tried their hands on cooking on 28.09.2016 (Wednesday) in an especially carved activity “Cooking without Fire” for them. They played with many interesting ingredients like fresh veggies, fruits, chocolates, bread, sprouts, dry fruits, coconuts, corns etc. They prepared lip-smacking dishes which were an instant hit with the judges, who appreciated the efforts of all the little chefs whole heartedly.
